Abiola Abrams Earns Two Nominations for Her Debut Novel DARE

HES community member Abiola Abrams has been nominated for two literary awards for her debut novel Dare.

Gaining the attention of the Southeastern Virginia Arts Association (SEVAA) as it launches the first Afr'Am Fest Literary Awards, Dare has earned nominations for best Contemporary Fiction and best New African American Voice.

The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 25, 2008 during the 25th Anniversary of Afr'Am Fest, SEVAA's annual cultural celebration in Norfolk, Virginia. Nathan McCall will be the keynote speaker.
